Resident Evil: The Final Chapter

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter attempts to bring a definitive close to Milla Jovovich's tenure as Alice, but ultimately delivers a bombastic yet hollow conclusion. The film plunges viewers back into the post-apocalyptic world, with Alice tasked with returning to the Hive in Raccoon City to retrieve an antivirus before the Umbrella Corporation can launch a final strike against humanity's last survivors. While the premise sets up a return to the series' roots, the execution is mired in convoluted plot points and a disregard for established continuity, leading to a narrative that feels both rushed and unsatisfying.

The action sequences, a hallmark of the franchise, are visually frenetic, often featuring impressive set pieces and Milla Jovovich's signature combat prowess. However, the editing is frequently criticized for being overly rapid and disorienting, turning potentially exciting moments into an incomprehensible blur that can induce headaches. Milla Jovovich delivers a committed performance as Alice, carrying the film with her established presence and energy.
