Inspired by a true story, 'This Tempting Madness' plunges viewers into the fractured psyche of Mia, a woman who awakens from a coma with a shattered memory and a body in pieces. Simone Ashley delivers a raw and transformative performance as Mia, navigating a disorienting reality where her husband is arrested for her attempted murder, but the truth remains elusive. Director Jennifer E. Montgomery crafts a visually engaging thriller, employing a cinematic landscape that mirrors the loops and contradictions of trauma.

The film effectively builds intrigue with its unreliable narrator premise, exploring themes of gaslighting, fractured perspectives, and the nature of reality itself. While the screenplay offers compelling hooks and capable direction, the narrative occasionally becomes overly complicated, particularly in its third act, where an abundance of twists threaten to derail the carefully constructed suspense. The supporting cast, including Suraj Sharma as Mia's protective brother, adds depth, though some characters feel underutilised.
