Prime Video's latest romantic drama, "The Last Sunrise," transports viewers to the picturesque setting of Mallorca, where a college student named Ry, grappling with a chronic illness, finds an unexpected connection with a local. The film, adapted from Anna Todd's novel, aims for a heartfelt exploration of living in the moment and confronting life's uncertainties. Visually, the movie excels, making excellent use of its stunning Spanish backdrop with golden lighting and beautiful beaches that create an inviting summer atmosphere.

The cinematography is smooth and effectively captures the escapist mood, making Mallorca a genuine highlight of the experience. Performances from the lead actors, Maia Reficco as Ry and Fernando Lindez as Julián, are a notable strength. They bring a certain earnestness to their roles, with Reficco delivering a controlled performance that allows Ry's vulnerability and burgeoning independence to shine through.
