Seven Snipers

Seven Snipers delivers a taut and efficient action thriller experience, largely thanks to a commanding performance from Radha Mitchell as Kris Hendricks, a retired elite sniper forced out of hiding. The film, directed by Sandra Sciberras, embraces a familiar revenge-thriller blueprint, borrowing elements from established genre entries, but manages to keep audiences engaged through its brisk pacing and grounded action sequences. While the plot may not break new ground, it effectively sets up a tense cat-and-mouse game between Kris and the resurfaced warlord, The Dragon, played with menacing presence by Tim Roth.

Mitchell's portrayal of Kris is a standout, conveying a sense of hard-earned experience and trauma without resorting to superheroics. Annabel Wolfe also provides a solid emotional anchor as her daughter, Anja. The film's action, particularly the sniper scenes, is noted for its realism, avoiding excessive spectacle in favour of a more practical approach.

The sound design and score are also praised for their atmospheric contribution, enhancing the film's tension and sense of isolation. However, the screenplay occasionally falters, with predictable character developments and plot points that lean heavily on genre conventions.
