Alejandro G. Iñárritu's 'Digger' presents a visually arresting, albeit narratively fractured, attempt at a climate disaster satire. The film stars Tom Cruise as Digger Rockwell, a powerful and obscenely wealthy oil tycoon whose actions inadvertently trigger a global catastrophe. As the world teeters on the brink of environmental collapse, Digger embarks on a frantic mission to prove himself humanity's saviour, a quest that becomes increasingly muddled by the film's meta-commentary and tonal shifts.

Cruise delivers a performance that, while certainly a departure from his typical action hero roles, is divisive.
