Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah's '7 Dogs' plunges viewers into a world of international crime with an Interpol agent, Khalid Al-Azzazi, forced to collaborate with a syndicate insider, Ghali Abu Dawood, to dismantle a drug trafficking network. The film, boasting a substantial budget, clearly prioritises spectacle, offering a relentless barrage of stylish action sequences, explosive stunts, and dynamic visuals. Directors El Arbi and Fallah, known for their work on the 'Bad Boys' franchise, bring a kinetic energy to the screen, ensuring that the film rarely slows down.

The cinematography is often flashy and engaging, capturing the large-scale set pieces with considerable flair, and the production design effectively creates a sense of global scope, despite much of the filming taking place in Riyadh. However, while the visual craft and action choreography are frequently praised, the narrative itself struggles to maintain consistent intrigue. Critics have noted a tendency towards a generic screenplay and a plot that can feel predictable, often prioritising motion over genuine narrative progress.

The storytelling, at times, is described as routine, with some dialogue feeling stilted, particularly in dubbed versions. Performances from the lead actors, Ahmed Ezz and Karim Abdel Aziz, are generally strong, with their chemistry and contrasting styles providing much of the film's charm and humour. Karim Abdel Aziz, in particular, receives commendation for his witty delivery.

Conversely, the high-profile cameos, including those from Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt, have been widely criticised as underdeveloped and largely ineffectual, detracting from the overall impact. Ultimately, '7 Dogs' is a loud, action-heavy entertainer that delivers on its promise of big-screen thrills, even if its story and character depth do not always match its visual ambition.
