The sequel to Gatta Kusthi, titled Gatta Kusthi 2, picks up several years after the first film, with Veera and Keerthi navigating parenthood and Keerthi's wrestling career. The film attempts a gender role reversal, with Veera embracing domestic responsibilities while Keerthi pursues her athletic ambitions. While the premise holds promise, the execution falters, leading to a narrative that feels both familiar and at times, unnecessarily stretched.

The writing struggles to maintain momentum, often resorting to predictable plot points and a tone-deaf humour that detracts from the film's more progressive intentions. Despite these shortcomings, the performances, particularly from the lead actors, provide a consistent anchor. Vishnu Vishal and Aishwarya Lekshmi reprise their roles with conviction, bringing warmth and depth to their characters' evolving relationship.

The supporting cast also delivers commendable performances, adding to the film's entertainment value. Cinematography and production design are adequate, creating a functional visual landscape without particularly standing out. The music and background score are serviceable, fitting the film's tone without leaving a lasting impression.
