Acne Whiteheads: The Relationship Between The Two Conditions

Home \ Skin Care \ Acne Treatments \ Acne Whiteheads: The Relationship Between The Two Conditions
Acne can be a result of whiteheads. Before elevating the problem into a severe situation, make sure you (1) get rid of the whiteheads or if not (2) prevent them from spreading out.

Whiteheads are actually acne lesions.  They may either be a cause of acne, or a result of acne.  Whiteheads are commonly results of blocked pores that have trapped skin oil, bacteria and dead skin cells.  While the bacteria invade the surface, white blood cells that attack them give the pore a whitish appearance.  They usually appear in delicate parts of the skin, particularly near the eye area.

Getting rid of whiteheads

Limes Splashing into Water"An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure", who is not aware of this?  Therefore, it is best to attack the problem immediately before it leads to other serious ones.  Some tips to get rid of whiteheads include:

• Eat and drink healthy.  See to it that you practice eating fruits and vegetables daily.  Practice drinking a glass of warm lemon juice every morning and add to that other fresh juices and water.  Aside from giving you your daily dose of fiber, they also aid in detoxifying unwanted materials in the body, as well as cleanse your skin.

• Home remedies may also be done.  You may consider mixing roasted and powdered pomegranate skin with fresh lime juice and make a paste, after which you may apply it to pimples.  You may also want to try mixing cornstarch with vinegar and apply the paste on the surface for 15-30 minutes.  Gently rinse  off with washcloth soaked in warm water.

Preventing whiteheads to form into acne

Whiteheads may cause acne in severe cases, most especially cystic acne.  When bacteria start rushing into the plugged pores, the tendency is the condition would aggravate to acne.  In order not to lead to acne, whiteheads should be treated at once using any of the following:

• Use mild facial cleanser.  Not because you want to achieve immediate outcome, you would tend to go for just about any facial cleanser in the market.  You have to take note that since whiteheads form in delicate portions of the skin, a mild cleanser should be used to treat it.

• Use gentle exfoliating product once a week.  Exfoliation involves scrubbing of the skin that is why it is advised that the process be done once a week only.  When you overdo the scrubbing, it may lead to irritation and your whitehead may result to acne.  You could consider using oatmeal to aid whitehead removal.

• Use a clay mask.  Like exfoliation, this may be used once a week also.  You may also opt to use containing alpha or beta hydroxy acids.

• Never pinch nor squeeze a whitehead.  Pinching or squeezing a whitehead may lead to pus spreading in the face.  This could then result to acne problems.

Taking care of your skin is like taking care of the entire body.  You have to feed it with the right products with the right nutrients in order to prevent other problems in the future.
